Testimonials

I've never met anyone so dedicated as Quan to helping the people in his home country. He devotes his musical gifts and his free time making sure fund raising concerts are exciting, well-promoted, and return their gross receipts to the poor people in Vietnam. His latest idea, 1,000 bikes, is the kind of inspired, grass roots idea that can dramatically change the horizon of young girls and boys by simply making it easier for them to get to school. Quan thinks big by some small things that make a world of difference.

Friends of Vinh Son Orphanage, FVSO, has worked in Kontum for over 10 years supporting the orphans and under privileged served by The Sisters of The Miraculous Medal at the Vinh Son Orphanages. In 2011 we were helping over 750 children at 7 different locations. None of these locations had clean water and we had many health problems because of that. We had searched over the years for a solution but never found a satisfactory solution we could execute. Our association with VietDreams has been wonderful. They have well qualified people in country. They produced a clear analysis and action plan for each site. FVSO co-funded the projects with VietDreams. We were most impressed that the projects were executed on schedule and met all of our expectations, even exceeding them. In less than a year we have installed 7 new systems with the capacity to serve over 750 children and we have a continuing maintenance plan to insure quality water for the future. We could not have done this with out the cooperation and dedication of the team from VietDreams. We would not hesitate to partner with VietDreams in the future.

Since you gave us a library everything here is more beautiful and more bright ... Teachers and students come to the library often to read books. They also come to school earlier in the morning to take time to visit the reading room.

During the past two years the Vietnam Fund collaborated with Viet Dreams on the successful installation of seven clean drinking water systems in elementary schools in Vietnam.  These systems currently serve approximately three thousand of some of the poorest Ethnic Minority and Vietnamese children in the Central Highlands.  In addition with their assistance and support we were able to secure funding for three new Vietnam Fund libraries. My experience working with Mr. Nguyen has been excellent. He has top-notch people and systems set up in Vietnam that operates quickly and efficiently. In each of our joint ventures, upon receipt of payment, installation and training were completed within several days. Staff at the schools were pleased with the information and training they received.

"I don't know if you have the opportunity to work with Quan Nguyen, but he is utterly amazing. In addition to making all things related to teaching on-line possible, he is also a giving, civically minded and engaged person. After visiting Vietnam and watching children walking prohibitively long distances to and from school, he decided to set up a program to raise money to purchase bikes for the children. $75 buys a bike and a helmet. These bikes make it easier for children to access education while helping to improve the quality of life for their whole family.
